Anyone ever worked with (not for) an Hasidic Jew?
Driving through Stoke newington this morning there was loads of them going about their own business and it occurred to me I have never worked with one

Worked for a caterer in my teens at frum weddings but never alongside one.

Worked with pretty much everyone else but not those.

They can't all be jewellery dealers can they?

I had a brilliant Kosher wine in a Lebanese restaurant in Paris. Certified by a Rabbi in London.

Have never had it before, I had low expectations. Tried to find it again, failed, and now I've forgotten its name.

Brucie, as you say its just praying so no big deal. It aint so funny when you're on a plane and about 20 or so go to the back for a 20 minute pray. Plane listing, turbulence, they don't care.
To generalise that they are rude, racist etc (that's a laugh coming from you lot) is of course a gross generalisation as it is with any group. In 30 years of doing business with people of all shades, shapes and sizes, I have dealt with rude ones but also Hasidic Jews have been among the most honourable people I have come across.

Re: Anyone ever worked with (not for) an Hasidic Jew?
By the way, in Israel the ultra orthodox ones are Haredi.

It gets further complicated because of the schism between Ashkenazei and Sephardic Jews who have their own orthodox branches.

Generally the sephardic settled around the med and the ashkenazei settled in northern and eastern europe.

Ashkenazei orthodox tend to be hasidic, whilst sephardic orthodox tend to be haredi.

The sephardi consider themselves superior to the ashkenazei.
Excuse spelling mistakes.

gph, yes its purim. Google it, its fucking hilarious, I flew out there one year and saw them all get tanked on johnny walker.

I was told that because of the way that whisky is produced, it is always automatically kosher.

So all the rabbis drink whisky, instead of kosher wine (which outside of israel is rank). Proper Israeli wine is actually very good.

Was at the aquarium in Southend a couple of months back, just leaving, when in walked a bus load of hasidic jew down syndrome/retard kids. Apparently they have those too. It wasnt something I was expecting to see to be honest.

Remember seeing 2 of them in the main Nightclub in Leicester Square next to the cinema (had a few name changes) and thinking thats odd but semi pissed not being too surprised. My old man worked for them for a while and they loved him but when they found out he wern't Jewish that changed.

I went to Tel Aviv a while back, and obviously it was full of hard core front wheels, the type I assume you are talking about. One of them had a china cistern as his carry on luggage (with no lid on it) full of all his stuff. Most of 'em spent the whole flight stood at the back. Strangest flight of my life, and I've been on a few.

I travelled between Brussels and Amsterdam for a year and used to stay in Antwerp, the place is full of them marching around the streets all on some sort of mission, the women are just as weird in their twin sets pushing big prams around.

I've been to the wailing wall in Jerusalem, it looks like they are all trying to nut the wall down, then after all that, they poke little bits of paper in between the cracks

Most odd

I've seen them do the same thing in an airport lounge, with leather straps, some of which hold little boxes to their bodies.
